OK Oppos, I need some serious assistance here regarding an epic Halloween setup.
My group of insane co-workers has decided to re-create a low-rent used car lot as our theme for our company's Halloween costume contest. By default, I was chosen to be the sleazy used car salesman and the rest of the team will be (top secret).
As we were thinking about the props to use (horrible chairs, decrepit coffee maker, triangle flags, etc), I started to wonder if we could somehow bring in an ACTUAL CAR into our cube farm! Our workspace is on the first floor very close to the double-door front entrance and located near a space wide enough to wheel a compact/sub-compact car, such as a Geo Metro or Nissan Versa into place.
Unfortunately, I don't have an army of mechanics to take it apart and put it together inside like the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! from a few years ago.
My first thought is to call a junkyard to see if there are any rollers they'd part with for next to nothing. Or scan CL for a real beater for practically free.
Yes, I am totally insane for suggesting this but this would put our team in the Halloween Hall of Fame, that is, if there was one...
Enlighten me Oppos. Is this idea completely impossible or feasible?

Sure, if people are willing. I tried to get everyone in my high school graduating class to chip in just 50 cents each so we could put a car upside-down in the cafeteria as our senior prank, and... no one was willing to shell out their pocket change because they're all idiots.

Metro weighs about 1800lbs. I doubt you could get a roller away from a junkyard. Where are you located?

what about some "little tykes" kiddie cars or broken power wheels or some such if you can't get a real car? That way you could have a several cars in your lot. You could even have a "death" car or two.

My dad and his high school classmates in the 80s disassembled the principle's Kharmann Ghia and put it back together on the roof of Robinson High in Virginia.

I would have given you $5 to make it happen, FWIW.

That's a bit more realistic. I know I can find them cheap at re-sale shops. Still trying to aim high, though.

I thought of the cop car on the top of the dome at MIT, too. I found a link and learned that it was metal parts over a wooden frame. Those nerds are pretty smart.
